Zinc Layer Options:
Hot dip galvanizing, also known as hot-dip galvanizing, is a process of immersing steel in molten zinc to attach a layer of zinc to the surface of the steel. This process ensures a tight bond between the zinc layer and the steel, forming a dense protective layer that effectively prevents the steel from being corroded. The zinc layer of hot-dip galvanizing is thick, presenting a bright silver white luster on the surface, and has strong corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Therefore, it is usually used in outdoor environments or situations that require long-term use.
Cold galvanizing, also known as electroplating, is the process of depositing a layer of zinc on the surface of steel using electro-chemical principles. Although this process is simple to operate, the adhesion between the zinc layer and the steel is weak, and the anti-corrosion effect is relatively poor. Cold dip galvanizing has a thinner zinc layer, lower surface glossiness, and weaker anti-corrosion performance, and is more commonly used in indoor environments where anti-corrosion requirements are not high.
Mechanical galvanizing is a relatively traditional galvanizing process that uses mechanical collision and chemical adsorption to attach zinc powder to the plated part, forming a coating. With the continuous maturity of new processes, the mechanical plating method has been eliminated. Currently, the commonly used processes are hot-dip galvanizing and cold galvanizing.
Powder galvanizing is a method of galvanizing with a relatively uniform layer, especially suitable for fasteners such as nuts, bolts, and small hardware products. The characteristics of powder zinc infiltration are uniform infiltration layer, no hydrogen embrittlement or deformation phenomenon, good density and toughness, and corrosion resistance not lower than hot-dip galvanized layer.
