2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Wire | High Strength Corrosion Resistant Alloy | Wisuno

2205 duplex stainless steel wire is a duplex stainless steel with an austenitic-ferritic structure. Its core advantage lies in combining high strength with excellent corrosion resistance: its yield strength is about twice that of conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316, while its high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content provides resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion far superior to ordinary austenitic stainless steels. Applications: it is mainly used in fields with extremely stringent requirements for strength and corrosion resistance, including downhole tools, wire ropes and springs in the oil and gas industry; mooring cables, submarine and ship components in marine engineering; high-pressure vessels and heat exchangers in chemical equipment; and high-strength prestressed steel strands in bridge engineering.

2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Wire – Condensed Summary
General

  • Duplex (austenitic-ferritic) structure.

  • Combines high strength (yield strength approximately twice that of conventional austenitic grades like 304 and 316) with excellent corrosion resistance.

  • High Cr, Mo and N content provides superior resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion.
