Forming Performance
The warm extrusion process provides a practical balance between forming force, dimensional control and surface quality.
Compared with conventional cold extrusion, warm forming can lower the force required for deformation and consequently help reduce stress and wear on forming dies. Compared with conventional hot forging, extrusion-based forming can provide improved dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
For suitable component designs, the process can produce near-net-shape parts, reducing the amount of secondary machining required after forming. The actual achievable accuracy, surface condition and machining allowance depend on material, part geometry, tooling design and process parameters.
Hydraulic and Cooling System
The hydraulic system is designed for high-force forming operations and provides a maximum working pressure of 25 MPa across the YBW Series.
An independent hydraulic oil cooling arrangement is provided to control oil temperature during operation. A continuous plate-type water cooler or industrial oil chiller can be selected as an optional cooling solution.
Maintaining suitable hydraulic oil temperature is important for stable machine operation, particularly when the press is used for extended production cycles.
Safety System
Operator protection is integrated into the press control architecture.
Infrared Light Curtain
The infrared light curtain detects access to the protected operating area and provides an additional safety barrier during machine operation.
Two-Hand Controls
Two-hand operation helps keep the operator's hands away from the forming area when the press is activated.
Pressure and Temperature Monitoring
The PLC continuously monitors key operating conditions, including hydraulic pressure and oil temperature.
Alarm and Automatic Shutdown
When monitored parameters reach abnormal conditions, the control system can trigger alarms and automatic shutdown functions to help prevent overload, overheating or potential equipment damage.
Production Changeover and Tooling Management
The PLC/HMI control platform supports storage of multiple mold and process data profiles. Operators can recall the required settings when changing between products, reducing repetitive manual parameter entry.
This function is particularly useful for manufacturers producing several CV joint sizes or different forged components on the same equipment platform.
The YBW Series is available in five nominal force configurations from 5000 kN to 12000 kN, corresponding to YBW-500T, YBW-630T, YBW-800T, YBW-1000T and YBW-1200T.
For specific production requirements, the effective working area, stroke and daylight opening can be configured according to tooling dimensions, component size and production volume.
